Padel Ledger is an app for padel players and clubs. It tracks your matches, keeps rankings and leaderboards for each of your groups, runs seasons and tournaments, randomises social sessions across courts, and gives you a personal AI coach. Think of it as the official scorebook for your padel crew.

Do I need an account?

You can browse public groups and leaderboards without signing in, but you need a free account to join groups, appear in rankings, post in the forum or message other players. Signing up takes under a minute with your email or Google account.

How do I create a group?

Sign in, go to Groups and choose Create group. Give it a name, decide whether it's public or private, then invite players from the member list using the search bar. Whoever creates the group is the group admin.

How do I join someone else's group?

A group admin invites you from within their group. You'll get a notification asking you to confirm, and once you accept you'll appear in that group's leaderboard and can be selected in matches.

Can I add players who haven't signed up?

Yes. Group admins can add a limited number of managed players so you can log matches straight away, even if some of your regulars haven't joined yet. When they sign up properly you can invite them as a full member.

Who can log matches?

Only the group admin can log, edit or delete matches in their group. That keeps the ledger trustworthy so nobody can quietly rewrite history. You'll always be asked to confirm before anything is deleted.

How are the rankings calculated?

Every match updates an Elo-style rating for each player. Beating stronger opponents earns you more; losing to weaker ones costs you more. We also track wins, losses, win percentage and current streak so you can see form as well as overall standing.

What's the difference between the home leaderboard and a group leaderboard?

The home page shows your overall stats across every group you play in. Each group also has its own separate leaderboard and stats, so your Tuesday club night and your weekend crew stay independent.

What is a season?

A season is a time-boxed league inside a group with its own start and end date and its own standings table. Matches played within those dates count towards the season leaderboard as well as the all-time one — perfect for running a spring or winter league.

How do tournaments work?

Group admins can create a tournament, add the entrants, and the app generates and tracks the bracket. Results feed through as you play, so the draw always shows who's still in.

A match was logged incorrectly. Can it be fixed?

Yes — ask your group admin to edit or delete the match. Ratings and standings recalculate automatically once the correction is made.

What is the social session mixer?

It's built for club nights where up to 16 players rotate across 4 courts over 90 minutes. The mixer randomises fair, balanced pairings, rotates players every 20 minutes and avoids repeat partners where possible. Admins can also swap players manually and record scores.

How do I add a profile photo?

Go to Profile and upload an image. It appears as your circular avatar beside your name in every leaderboard, match and forum post, with your plan badge stamped in the corner.

Why can't I change my display name?

Names are locked so that leaderboards and match history stay consistent and recognisable — no swapping identities after a bad run. If you need your name changed, message the site admin in the app and we'll sort it.

What does the AI coach actually do?

It's your own personal padel coach. It remembers what you've told it about your game, your goals and your recent matches, and gives specific advice on tactics, positioning, shot selection and what to practise. You can chat to it any time, and it will nudge you after an active week to review how things went.

Is my coach conversation private?

Yes. Your coach conversations are visible only to you and are not shared with other players or groups.

Can I message other players?

Yes — private direct messages are available on the paid plans. Open Messages, pick a player and start a thread. New messages show an unread badge in the header in real time.

What's the forum for?

It's the community space: general padel chat, finding games, tips and gear, plus a dedicated Site Bugs & Fixes section where you can report anything that isn't working. The site admin is marked with a badge so you know who to ask.

Will I get notified about invites and messages?

Yes. You'll see in-app notifications via the bell in the header for group invites, messages and activity. If you've installed the mobile app you can also receive push notifications on your phone.

Go to Profile to change your plan. You can cancel at any time — your paid features stay active until the end of the current billing period and won't renew.

Your profile and overall stats are visible to other players. Group leaderboards and matches follow the group's setting: public groups appear on the home feed, private groups are visible only to their members.
